At Madeley Print Shop Ltd. we aim to provide the most comprehensive range of services to meet our customers' needs. If you need a service that we cannot provide we will offer help and guidance in dealing with other printers or arrange all the work for you and we are always glad of suggestions for services we can add. Pre-press/Design Most of our customers depend on us to typeset and design their work for them prior to printing, photocopying etc. We can also accept customers' artwork on floppy disk, CD and via e-mail. We work with mostly Adobe software (Indesign CS, Pagemaker, Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, Golive, Imagestyler etc.) and to a lesser extent Quark Xpress. Please consult the 'assistance' page if you are intending to bring us your own artwork. Offset Litho This is the method used for the majority of commercial printing, it offers the best quality and the lowest cost per copy for long runs. Litho printing (pronounced lie - tho) is extremely flexible, permitting the use of a wide range of types including gloss, silk coated etc. and thicknesses (up to 300gsm) of paper and card. We are able to print both single and spot colour (i.e. 1, 2 or 3 colour) work, and our machines can handle sizes up to SRA3 (320 x 450mm). We can print on 2- or 3- part collated NCR (carbonless copy) sets in individual sets or padded, and we can print envelopes as well as on pre-folded flyers and posters. NB black counts as one colour!

Photocopying Photocopying is the cheapest option when only a few copies are needed. We can now offer black and white and colour copying and colour digital printing. For prices, please see our pricing page. Colour Laser Printing The perfect solution for printing small quantities of colour work – all sizes up to A3, on paper and card. We can also design and produce small quantities of full colour posters (up to about 300), business cards (up to 1000) etc. Work produced on a laser printer is not suitable for you to use in a laser printer yourself (the toner would melt!), so we do not do full colour letterheads. Collating/booklet making Our twin tower, 20 station booklet making system can collate, staple, fold and trim up to twenty sheets into finished booklets (up to eighty pages) in A4 or A5 formats. We can also bind documents using plastic combs, or wire bindings. Folding and finishing Our precision high speed folding machine can fold a wide range of sizes and types of paper and card in a variety of folds – half and letter ('tri-fold') being the most popular. We can comb bind or wire-bind your booklets. Laminating We can laminate all sizes between credit/ID card and A3. A4 lamination is 40p (as at 1/1/2008) and A3 is 80p. Add VAT. Digital Photography ID cards etc. – pictures taken while you wait. An ID card laminated in a plastic pouch with clip, including your photo taken if required, is £3.50 plus VAT. Numbering and perforating We can number your NCR sets (that's carbonless forms), your programmes, tickets, etc. You can also now have perforated tear-off slips, or your order forms bound with tape, stapled and top copies perforated to tear off.
